The Kiss – A Poem by Priyanka Banerjee

The Kiss

Dreamy veils of fancy hide the hills of imagination,
Where Monalisa smiles spreading the hue of love all over the universe –
Artist’s perception, curves of deception,
Breath’s irresistible domination !

Longings of the mist
For a frantic
Kiss !

Moonlit night covered up the wounds of hearts that embraced stillness –
Blue wings play with the restless waves
That fail to probe deep into matters.
Glossy skin caresses shattered
Heart,
In a bid to fall in love with the deluge.

Cravings of the marooned
Island for the hymns
Of a desperate kiss !

Between the much awaited moment
Of infinite joy
And perennial symphony of melancholic wonder,
“Falls the shadow” !
Voices of masculine grandeur,
Melting heart’s desire
For vaporous aura .
Aurora’s Matrix of lights, flickers
Covering the entire sky –
Flesh uplifts flesh’s instincts .

Lips adoring lips
In dreams,
In air –
Feather’s touches felt
As the Earth’s Commotion !

Someone calls from the heaven
Just as someone called from
The hell !
The Northern Star conquers
The unexplored surface
Of the betrayed century’s purest lips –

Let
The fragmented shadows
Conquer the
Breath !

Let the kiss connect
Two continents
And triumph
Over the sins.
