Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Chandigarh recently hosted the first edition of Kushagra: An Inter-School Quiz, attracting participants across India.
The quiz was open to students from Classes 9 to 12. The preliminary rounds were conducted virtually, with over 760 students from 50 schools participating. After a tight elimination battle, the top 50 teams across India were shortlisted for the Grand Finale, which was held at the NMIMS Chandigarh campus and all the shortlisted teams reached Chandigarh Campus in heebie jeebies.
Kushagra was organised to recognise and celebrate young talent and provide them an opportunity to display their knowledge and quizzing skills. Quizzes, apart from being fun, are also a great learning tool, encouraging students to be confident and eager to explore new topics.
On the day of the finale, the campus was throbbing with excitement as the final participants exhibited nervous energy, anxiously waiting to showcase their talent. The quiz contest covered topics on a wide range of subjects, including History, Politics, Geography, Culture, Heritage, Art, Food, Fashion, Sports, Science, Technology, Business, Literature, Mythology, and Current Affairs, to name a few.
Kushagra, which in Sanskrit means one who is intelligent and sharp, was designed to focus on encouraging the students to push boundaries, think analytically and logically, and remain curious all their life.
The Chief Guest at the Grand Finale was Mr. Rakesh Kumar Popli, PCS Joint Secretary Personnel, Government of Punjab, who shared his academic journey and passion for quizzing with students.
Additionally, campus Director Dr. Jaskiran Kaur held a master class on “Effective Time Management” for the students. “The inaugural edition of Kushagra Inter School Quiz is a testament to the limitless potential of young minds. Time management is key to unlocking this potential, and the participating students have demonstrated this by making it to the Grand Finale. Congratulations to the winners, and all the participants. Remember that success is not a destination but a journey. Keep utilizing your time wisely and sky’s the limit,” advised Dr. Jaskiran Kaur.
The schools that won top honours at the Kushagra competition were Delhi Public School, Gurugram, in 1st place, followed by Modern School, Barakhambha Road Delhi in 2nd, and Sunbeam English School, Varanasi in 3rd place. The Runner Up title went to Neerja Modi School, Jaipur.
The first edition of the Kushagra Inter School Quiz has been a shining example of the talent and potential of the young generation. As the first edition of the quiz contest ended, there was keen anticipation for the next edition of this stimulating event – a platform where students from schools across the country will get the opportunity to showcase their outstanding talents once again.
