On his way to a tutoring lesson on Sunday afternoon, the youngster slipped into the sewer. Following the post-mortem, the corpse was handed over to family members.
Odisha: Fire Service workers found the corpse of a 15-year-old kid who went missing after slipping into a roadside open drain at Shatabdi Nagar in the state capital on Monday after a 19-hour frantic search, police said. The corpse was discovered among bamboo bushes along a sewer in Panchasakha Nagar, roughly 10 kilometres from the incident site.
Jyotirmaya Behera alias Raja, a class 10 girl who fell into the drain near Lane 7 in Shatabdi Nagar Bank Colony in Siripur on Sunday, was identified by family members at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, they said. On Sunday evening, the opposition Congress held a dharna at the tragedy scene, criticising the BMC’s delay and incompetence.
Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which filed a police complaint against the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) commissioner, held a protest in front of the municipal body’s headquarters in the Kalpana district of the city. And the victim family is demanded compensation for it.
