The Literature Times: Welcome to The Literature Times, author. Congratulations on the release of your book. What responses are you getting from your readers? Please share your experience with this book.
Author: Pro Sawyedul Amin : First of all, I’m very thankful to you for congratulating me on the release of my book and for giving me this chance to share my experiences with this book. I received a warmly wishing message from one of the readers is that “A heartfelt congratulations to you Pro Sawyedul Amin for being a published author of the book “The Untold Memoirs of Arakan” and I’m so proud of you for being a well recognised writer amongst Rohingya community”. It was quite challenging for me to write such a book dealing with affliction of genocide survivors and the plight of being a refugee which made my eyes wet. I’m over the moon to have got my second poetry book published with my cherished chum, Mayu Foyajul IsIam. “The Untold Memoirs of Arakan” is a collection of poetry written with the conscience based on affection and heartbreak of leaving the homeland, Arakan to escape the genocidal persecution.
The Literature Times: What encourages you to become an Author?
Author: Author: Pro Sawyedul Amin : Surviving as a caged bird in an open-air prisoner with sufferings inspires me towards my writing journey. Writing poetry has been part of my life as it’s beyond power and it consoles the pain of soul.
The Literature Times: What are your favorite topics of writing? Please tell us something about your interest areas in the literature.
Author: Pro Sawyedul Amin : There are various topics but among them I prefer to write about love, pain, inspiration, nature, harmony, freedom, education peace, humanity and identity. My biggest interest area in the literature is to be a renowned author and to encourage every human towards contributing for the literature across the world like “William Shakespeare” and other else.
The Literature Times: We were hoping you could tell us about some of those writers who had inspired you and whom you follow!
Author: Author: Pro Sawyedul Amin : There are many writers around the world I admire but among them who had inspired me and whom I follow are “William Shakespeare, John Milton, Robert Browning, Cristina Georgina Rosette and Maulana Jalal Uddin Rumi because reading their poetry heals trauma in my heart and stimulates me to continue writing.
The Literature Times: The titles seem different and catchy; how you decided it? Please let us know the story behind it.
Author: It made us complicated to determine the title of the book. Although we were indigenous to Arakan and have been living there for generations, an outbreak of violence on August 25, 2017 forced us to flee our ancestral land, Arakan. Thus, we finalized this title to draw the attention of readers and the title absolutely captures the exact facts of the ongoing sequence due to genocide.
The Literature Times: What are your achievements so far? Tell us something about your writing career.
Author: I’m an award-winning poet and many of my poems have been published in international anthologies, magazines, and on significant websites. I’ve won many poetry contests and got many literary accolades. I’ve co-authored over one hundred anthologies and compiled several anthologies which are published globally such as Refraction of Heart, Life of Hardship, Attraction of Love, Painful Love and so on. Furthermore, one of the most remarkable achievements in my life is that I’ve internationally published my first poetry book “Lyrical Creativity of the Heart” on 15th October, 2022 and ultimately I’ve globally published my second poetry book, “The Untold Memoirs of Arakan” with my close crony, Mayu Foyajul IsIam on 1st February, 2023.
The Literature Times: What is your current goal in writing a career? How do you see your future in writing?
Author: Pro Sawyedul Amin : My desired aspiration in my writing career is to be a well-known author to inspire everyone as a literature contributor all over the world and to be a renowned novelist to show my inner thoughts that lie inside my heart and fragile soul. I highly hope that one day, I will be the owner of several books at international libraries and a great novelist in future of and I promised myself that I will keep writing until my last breath.
The Literature Times: Are there any other books being worked by you? Please let us know about your future projects.
Author: the time being, there is no book I’m working on but I hope to write a compelling novel based on the conscience of Rohingya community or a tale of love affair between two Rohingya lovers like “Romeo and Juliet”.
The Literature Times: How you see Indian writing in the 21st century? What changes do you see in the modern way of writing? Do you feel it has been changed by the time?
Author: Pro Sawyedul Amin : Due to potentials of writers and readers, Indian writing has excellently developed in 21st century. I’m aware there are many changes in the modern way of writing due to using technology such as literary platforms and websites on social media that inspire to the writers and yes, I feel it has been changed by the time.
The Literature Times: How easy/ difficult it was for you to publish your book? What message would you like to give to budding authors?
Author: Pro Sawyedul Amin : I had to undergo different types of challenges to publish this book such as I have no photo for using as a book cover and no knowledge for illustrating a cover but a good teacher helped me out with a picture for cover. I have neither a bank account nor a KDP account for publishing book. No one lent me a helping hand through the journey of publishing this book. Despite above challenges, I haven’t given up and ultimately I’ve successfully published this book. I would like to send a message to the buddying authors that’s “The more you face challenges, the more stronger you will be. No matter how bad the situation is, I’m pretty sure that if you try, you will overcome one day. So, never give up on your dream and keep writing”.
