The recent victory of the Congress Party in the 2023 Karnataka Assembly Elections has exposed the real face of the ‘Entire Opposition’ who had been targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for no good reasons. Well, it seems like the Congress Party along with the entire opposition does not know how to accept the defeat in politics. As Congress and the whole opposition front very conveniently labels the victories of BJP as ‘Foul Play’ whenever BJP wins any election on merit, be it the Vidhan Sabha Elections, the Lok Sabha Elections or even the Municipal Corporation Elections in any part of the country. However, when Congress or any other opposition party wins any elections in the Indian Political Landscape then they claim their victory to be fair!
It looks very funny that how Congress and the entire opposition blames BJP with the allegations of hacking the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in order to win the elections and thus causing the foul play. However, the Election Commission of India has cleared it several times that the EVMs cannot be hacked and the EVMs remains in their protective custody before and after the voting process. However, the Congress Party and the Opposition never pays regards to the Election Commission and accept their words. For Congress and opposition front, any victory by BJP automatically becomes the death of democracy, as they cannot accept defeat.
It is so sad that whenever BJP wins and the voters shows their trust in the Bharatiya Janata Party, the opposition calls it a foul play, as it is a direct disrespect of the citizens. By misleading the people of this country and adding the suspicion of foul play in the minds of the citizens, the opposition parties are only weakening the pillars of democracy. Every political party should respect the people’s mandate in a democratic set-up even when the votes do not go their way. The false cries of foul play are only exposing the weakness of the oppositions as BJP never puts any blames to any political party when they losses!
If you take the case of Delhi, then you will see that the Aam Admi Party (AAP) had defeated BJP back to back in the 2015 and the 2020 Vidhan Sabha Elections. But, we never saw BJP blaming AAP for any kind of foul play; rather the leaders of BJP came on TV and openly said that they respect the people’s mandate even when it was not with them. Well, this shows how strong an opposition is BJP in Delhi and their ethical values when it comes to maintain the sanctity of the democracy.
Now, when Congress has won the 2023 Vidhan Sabha Elections of Karnataka again, BJP showed their respect towards the mandate of the people and nobody from the party called it a foul play or death of democracy. BJP showed their belief in the democratic set-up and cleared the way for a peaceful transition of power in the state. Interestingly, Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi went out to call his party’s victory to be the victory of the people of Karnataka to which BJP did not show any kind of objection. BJP accepted the defeat gracefully and proved that they are going to be a strong opposition in the state!
More importantly, it is high time for the people of this country to understand that the allegations upon BJP hacking the EVM by the Congress Party and the entire opposition front is baseless and illogical. As, if it were true then BJP would not have lost the assembly elections in Delhi twice and would never have lost the elections in any other states like West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Punjab and Karnataka.
