The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has allowed various state, national, and international educational boards to physically conduct examinations in the city according to their timetable while complying with all guidelines for coronavirus prevention. Earlier, citing fear of a second COVID-19 surge, last month the BMC deferred until January 15 the opening of Mumbai schools and colleges.
It has now agreed, however, to encourage the boards to conduct their tests, as failure to do so could result in students losing a year, the BMC said in its order released late Tuesday night.
From January 18 onwards, they were permitted to conduct examinations, a BMC official said on Wednesday.
