Akhila Saroha: I would like to begin by congratulating you on the publication of “The Legend of The Stones of Life the Birth of the Gods.” How has the response to the book been so far?
Peter Kent: Thank you very much for the congratulation, Akhila. The book went through a very long journey and difficult trials. Nevertheless, it usually encounters positive feedback. Which I´m also a little surprised. I still can´t believe book managed to get that far. That book got here at all, so far beyond my home, that is, from Slovakia, where I live
Akhila Saroha: What led to the idea of writing “The Legend of The Stones of Life the Birth of the Gods”? Were there any events that inspired the work?
Peter Kent: The idea to write a legend of the stones of life originated in my childhood, but then I left it for a long and very long time, I would hardly even write it. But then came a very sad event, my mom died exactly ten years ago. After this sad event, I fell to the very bottom. Eventually, writing gave me such a spark in my life, and I thought I would write this book in honor of my mom and publish it. So it´s also such a memory of my mom and sadisfaction after I survived everything.
Akhila Saroha: How easy or difficult was it for you to write on a subject that held relevance for all and remain objective about them in “The Legend of The Stones of Life the Birth of the Gods”?
Peter Kent: It was not at all easy to write this book. Like everything in this world, this book went through its evolution until it reached this form. A lot of renunciation and patience eventually bore fruit. Writing sci-fi fantasy is not so easy. Create a fantasy in your thoughts, and then it goes the same way, as if someone was guiding you through writing.
Akhila Saroha: What are your views about present-day writing? Do you think it does complete justice in depicting human nature in the light of “The Legend of The Stones of Life the Birth of the Gods”?
Peter Kent: Contemporary writing has undergone great development since the past. Today you have a very large selection in every genre. And that drives progress in writing books. However, I never judge any art, I think that everyone who wrote a book put that piece of themselves into their story. As for The Legend of the Stones of Life, it´s more like looking at our civilization from the other side. Conversely, a view of another civilization on our part, where we can learn something. Whether it´s objective or subjective, I always leave it up to people to think about who we really are. I´m definitely not better or worse than the others. We are now moving on the very thin ice of our existence. We are basically at a crossroads where we finally have to decide which path to take. On the plus side, we are now living in the most peaceful and progressive time our history knows. I firmly believe that sanity and love will win in the end.
Akhila Saroha: “The Legend of The Stones of Life the Birth of the Gods” shows the uniqueness of your style of writing. Are there any authors that you enjoy reading or any books which are your favorites?
Peter Kent: I stick to the saying: There is beauty in simplicity. I try to write simply so that the reader understands what I am writing. Mainly to have a head and a heel. And as for books, I read a lot, I´ve read a lot of books different genres. Therefore, it is very difficult for me to choose the most popular authors and books that are among my favorite ones, but I will still capture those who have influenced my writing the most. Among the authors are the three best, Johannes von Buttlar, Stephen Hawking and Frank Herbert, but I say, I would find the whole list of authors on A4 paper, and even that would not be enough, because each author has his charm in his writing.
Akhila Saroha: How would you categorize “The Legend of The Stones of Life the Birth of the Gods” as its appeal seems to be to a broad audience?
Peter Kent: I wouldn´t categorize my book that much. I would very much like my book to reach a wide audience of readers. But of course, it´s mainly for fans of sci-fi fantasy fairy tales.
Akhila Saroha: “The Legend of The Stones of Life the Birth of the Gods” has given a powerful introduction to your potential as a writer. Can the readers expect more from you in the future? Would you please share about your future projects?
Peter Kent: Thank you very much, Akhila. At the beginning I want to say that I write in my native language and that is Slovak. I would like to thank my professional translator for doing such a perfect job and understanding my words, but also because we have known each other for many years. Yes, I am preparing two more sequels, which will follow each other with The Legend of the Stones of Life. I have already noted both sequels. The second part is nearing completion, but we still have a lot of work to do. I focus on illustrated books that enrich my story. The Legend of the Stones of Life also has twenty beautiful black and white illustrations. It´s a line drawing. Therefore, I must point out and thank my illustrator. The second part will be a twice as big project with more illustrations, but I´m already ahead of it. I plan to write another many books in the future fifteen years, so dear sci-fi fantasy readers have something to look forward to. I will be happy if I make a very good contribution to the sci-fi fantasy genre. Although I don´t like to tell my plans in advance.
Akhila Saroha: What is the story behind the title of your work, “The Legend of The Stones of Life the Birth of the Gods”?
Peter Kent: It´s a difficult question. I can only say that this story led me to live in the shadows of other people for a long time. I am such a loner, but many times I have felt alone and among people. I filled my solitude by reading and writing. That´s how this story came about, where I created my own world.
Akhila Saroha: How easy or difficult was it for you to write of experiences on land which may not have been visited by many experiences without hampering the readers’ perception in “The Legend of The Stones of Life the Birth of the Gods”?
Peter Kent: This book was my biggest school. It was not difficult to come up with the story, I had it made up in my head a long time ago. But to write, it was very difficult. It took me a lot of effort and sacrifice to learn to put something on paper. I had to work a lot hard and try and try and keep trying until it was what it was supposed to be. Today I write differently than before. I´m more experienced.
Akhila Saroha: In the present time, situations in “The Legend of The Stones of Life the Birth of the Gods” do not find much mention. What, according to you, could be the possible reason for that?
Peter Kent: Yes, it is not said. I am not yet a well-known author for the general public.
Akhila Saroha: If you were to describe your book “The Legend of The Stones of Life the Birth of the Gods” in a few words without giving any spoilers, what would those words be?
Peter Kent: Exciting, instructive and mysterious.
Akhila Saroha: What advice would you give to budding writers who may be planning to write in the same genre as “The Legend of The Stones of Life the Birth of the Gods”?
Peter Kent: Don´t be afraid to follow your dream, no matter what people tell you. You are the masters of your life, no one else. Do not react to ridicule. Write with your heart and not for money and fame. Read a lot and then practice writing. And the main thing is to be patient in the end. The patience of a rose brings.
Akhila Saroha: Thank you very much for sparing your time. I look forward to reading more books from you in the future. All the best.
Peter Kent: Thank you very much for your interest in the interview. Thank you very much Evincepub for publishing the book and their patience. I wish you all the best, Akhila.
