Rajneesh Dubey, born on 2nd January 1980 in Berasia, near Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Since childhood, he has been inclined towards acting, writing and music, because his ancestors have been staging Ramlila for the last 150 years, and received his early education in the arts from this platform, which was the only reason that brought him towards theatre.
Here, he got an opportunity to learn the nuances of theater and work with great veteran theater artists like Sanjay Mehta, Gopal Dubey, Alok Chatterjee. In the meantime, he also wrote songs for street plays.
Carrying this theatre legacy from his idols, he moved to Mumbai in 2004, where he also got an opportunity to learn from renowned gurus like Kishore Namit Kapoor, Vidhoor Chaturvedi, Mukul Srivastava.
In this journey of art, he also worked with directors like Abhilash Bhattacharya, Amol Palekar, E Niwas, Anant Mahadevan, Shadab Khan, and Vivek Sharma which were doing great work at that time.
His journey filled with lots of hardships and learning took him to direction from theatres. Before becoming a director, he also worked for many TV serials, films, documentaries and acquired the art of direction, by carrying the talent of imagination.

The Literature Times: Author, welcome to The Literature Times. Congratulations on the publication of your book! What feedback do you get from your readers? Please share your thoughts on this book.
Rajneesh Dubey: I would like to thank Literature time for this interview and Astitwa Prakashan for publishing my book. We are getting good feedback and comments from the readers and most of them feel that this story “Pyaari” has a true essence of human relationship and how it expresses the left out side of a woman in this society and how does she deal with it, willingly or unwillingly.
The Literature Times: What motivates you to become a writer?
Rajneesh Dubey: For me writing is like going in the temple and worshipping and keeping in mind only one thing, I’m not here to receive something but I am here to give my devotion and let the god decide what’s there for me. So, devote yourself towards your story and writing and see the results.
The Literature Times: What are your favourite writing topics? Please tell us a little bit about your literary interests.
Rajneesh Dubey: I read a lot coz that makes you more knowledgeable and I have read some amazing books and novels like Ramayan, Bhagvad Gita, Mahabharat, Gaban, Godaan, Gora, The Devotion Of Suspect, Charitraheen, Parineeta, Shakuntala, Hamlet, Othello, Buddhism Books, Osho Books.
The Literature Times: We were hoping you might tell us about some of the authors that have influenced you and who you read!
Rajneesh Dubey: Yes, reading best things make your mind run faster and your vision widens. I follow and read greats like Buddh, Osho,Munshi Premchand, Nida Fazli, Syd Field, Gulzar Saab, Rabindranath Tagore, Sharatchandra, Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh, William Shakespeare, Sidney Lumet.
The Literature Times: The title is unique and appealing; how did you come up with them? Please tell us the story behind it.
Rajneesh Dubey: Honestly, it came up coz of Pyaari only, she is the real character which lived the life which I want to convey and sometime characters inspire you to write about them and keep their as your title.
The Literature Times: What are your achievements so far? Tell us something about your writing career.
Rajneesh Dubey: I am lucky that I got a chance to know my culture since childhood, my family has been doing Ramlila since 150 years, that is where my acting started.
Then I increased my experience by being a part of Theatre, Films, Serials, Realty Shows.
My writing started with street plays songs, work on Pyaari book since 2010, wrote lyrics for the film Phas Gaye Yaaro in 2022, also wrote story, screenplay, dialogues and lyrics for the film based on this book. Work on the book, Pyari Part 2 is also in progress and I am also writing screenplays and dialogues for many upcoming films.
The Literature Times: What is your current goal in writing a career? How do you see your future in writing?
Rajneesh Dubey: As a writer I want to bring out the best of me and present that to the audience coz cinema is something which is told from the cameras eye and your vision makes the camera deliver what it wants the audience to see. Story should be like a roller coaster ride for the audience, never be dull for even a moment.
The Literature Times: Do you have any other novels in the works? Please keep us updated on your future endeavours.
Rajneesh Dubey: Yes, plans are to come up with the second part of “Pyaari” and post that many more to come. The story is just started…
The Literature Times: How do you view Indian writing in the twenty-first century? What changes do you see in today’s writing style? Do you feel it has been changed by the time?
Rajneesh Dubey: Yes, change is inevitable. Cinema and story structure has never changed from 100 years. Only the viewing experience the delivering style has changed and evolved over the period of time. In today’s world people see all type cinema and the writing has evolved to complement the cinematic experience of today.
The Literature Times: How simple/difficult was it for you to publish your book? What message do you want to send to aspiring authors?
Rajneesh Dubey: When I thought of publishing the book, the complicated process of publication left me confused, during this time Dolly Tomar, the founder of Omsheel Production suggested for Astitva Prakashan, and also got her staff to talk to the members of Astitva Prakashan. I was very impressed by seeing the passion and understanding towards literature and writing, he liked the summary of my story very much, made an incomparable contribution in giving the form of a book to my feelings, the interest and enthusiasm of existence publication towards literature made him reach the pinnacle of success. Will deliver, my hope and prayers are always with them and it is a matter of good fortune for me to be able to work with such an organization in future.
