In India, 42,909 new Covid-19 infections were reported in a single day, bringing the total number of cases to 3.27 crore. According to figures updated at 8 a.m., the death toll has risen to 4,38,210, including 380 new fatalities.

According to the health ministry, the national Covid-19 recovery rate is 97.51 percent. The number of active cases in the country jumped by 7,766 in just 24 hours, according to the report. The daily optimism rate was 3.02 percent on Monday. After 35 days, it has risen to above 3%, according to the report.
Last year, it topped 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakhs on October 11, 80 lakhs on October 29, 90 lakhs on November 20, and one crore on December 19. On May 4, India passed the two-crore-case mark, and on June 23, it passed the three-crore-case mark. Among the 380 new deaths, 131 are from Maharashtra and 75 are from Kerala.
So far, 4,38,210 deaths have been reported across the country, with 1,37,157 deaths reported in Maharashtra, 37,278 in Karnataka, 34,878 in Tamil Nadu, 25,080 in Delhi, 22,818 in Uttar Pradesh, 20,541 in Kerala, and 18,423 in West Bengal. According to the health ministry, comorbidities were responsible for more than 70% of the deaths.
