The Poems

The Stone

I threw
a jagged stone,
into the heart of
a dreaming lake.
But neither the
stone cracked
nor
the lake shattered.
One sank,
in realization
and the other,
rippled gracefully
in acceptance.
As the stone
found new depths
within the lake,
I walked back
silently.

Parch

Still holding on tight,
to her cracked clay pot
she stood lost
in some disturbing thought
swaying, as she felt
the sting of pulsing heat
rising from the scorched earth
beneath her naked feet.
She peered, once again
into that deep hollow shell
the darkness was cool
within that empty well.

Autumn passing

Whispers and memories
hued, scarlet and ginger
of passion, of agonies,
etched forever to linger
within the crispy confines
of autumn’s omen,
those gliding shrines
yellow and crimson.

Wild withering woodland’s woe,
recollections, once fondly held
as reluctant relinquish, now let go,
falling away, those souvenirs shrivelled,
below, into a labyrinth’s consoling repress,
woven, of a thousand crumbles sprawl,
into the trailing tangerine tress
of a silently departing fall.
