One thing, which is clearly notable for the world is that India has undergone significant development process under the leadership of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. Since PM Modi took office in 2014, the Indian Government has launched several mega projects aimed towards boosting the nation’s infrastructure, economy & international standing. The message is very clear by the Modi Government, i.e. to fulfill all the promises made during the election campaigns & to present the citizens of the nation with an ideal government. Moreover, after so many years of independence it became obligatory for India to change her image of the ‘Third World Nation’ and to present herself as a Modern Nation. Therefore, these mega projects are very much need of the hour for India!
Some of the Top Mega Projects carried out by India under the Modi Government are –
1) Make in India: Launched in 2014, the Make in India initiative aims to turn India into a global manufacturing hub. The program focuses on promoting foreign investment, creating jobs, and boosting the country’s manufacturing capabilities.
2) Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: This is a nationwide cleanliness drive launched by the Indian government in 2014. The initiative aims to make India cleaner by encouraging people to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings!
3) Digital India: This initiative aims to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The program focuses on providing digital infrastructure, digital literacy, and digital services to citizens.
4) Smart Cities Mission: Launched in 2015, the Smart Cities Mission aims to develop 100 smart cities across India. These cities will have world-class infrastructure, sustainable living, and a high quality of life!
5) Sagarmala Project: This is a project aimed at developing India’s maritime infrastructure. The program focuses on improving port infrastructure, modernizing shipping, and developing coastal economic zones.
6) Bullet Train Project: The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Project, also known as the Bullet Train Project, is a high-speed rail network that will connect Mumbai to Ahmedabad. The project, which is being built in collaboration with Japan, will be the first high-speed rail network in India!
7) Ayushman Bharat: This is a healthcare scheme launched by the Indian government in 2018. The program aims to provide healthcare to India’s poorest citizens by offering free medical insurance.
8) Ujjwala Yojana: This is a scheme launched in 2016 aimed at providing free LPG connections to poor households. The program aims to promote clean cooking fuel and reduce indoor pollution caused by traditional fuels!
9) Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana: This is a financial inclusion scheme launched in 2014. The program aims to provide banking services to all citizens, especially those from low-income households.
