Author’s Background: Author Nehal keeps interest in literature and her experience in television writing has helped her a lot to nurture and explore the curiosity behind the device called human mind. Philosophy is the zone where the author finds herself always attracted to and she strongly feels we are all accidentally here on earth. She believes that, all we can do for each other is comfort the wounds by expanding our visions through various medium that we come across to, it can be our own experience, or knowing the experience of others, finding little bit of truth everywhere, and binding it to the refined consciousness, together we shall heal the world.

Neel Preet: Firstly, Congratulations on your book, “Ghaas Ke Badal!” What kind of responses are you getting from this book of yours? Please share your experience about this book.
Nehal: The greatest response I have received is my book is reviewed and pen down its essence, which l am deeply grateful for. My experience of this book if I am to sum up in few words, I write so that I can read a book was not there in a shelf.
Neel Preet: Your book is a wonderful collection of “Poems & Proses” so what inspired you to write this book?
Nehal: To be honest, sheer need to express. We are all a bunch of knowledge. Accumulated, experienced, acquired and so on. And we are living beings. We can master the philosophy of humans as logical creature. But the greatest comfort we have experienced is of love. Love has stories, love has preferences, each love has its own style and its own truth. In this book, there is love of friendship, love for art, love for perspectives, and all the whirlpool of waves finding a form of its own, let’s say poem and prose. We can say inspiration behind was – need to express – and form it took is of a poetry and prose.
Neel Preet: You’ve given a very interesting title to your book, which is very catchy too so, what made you go for this title for your book?
Nehal: I always got fascinated by how beautifully words create its own pallet. Let’s say, like Khali aasman. Aasma will always be khali but when we see in a poetic form, it not only reveals the immediate feel but also lead a creative process of what is it like bhara aasma? Are there clouds? Clouds of what? Are they thoughts or just some patchy wall? Or emptiness is the very nature of sky?
So that really amaze me how it flows your creative imagination. ‘Ghaas ke badal’ was something going on back of my mind, and I got a message from publication house that you have to register title so can proceed further. I was almost sure about the title and to make it firm I just asked my daughter, how it sounds ‘Ghaas ke badal’, and she said its cool. And thus I chose it as a name of this book.
Neel Preet: What was your mindset, while working on this book? What was the impetus behind this work of yours?
Nehal: As I said, sheer need to express. I think we all have something to say, and no one listens to you like empty pages. 🙂
Neel Preet: Very few Authors are coming out with ‘Poetry Collections’ these days however you did so, which I believe is a bold step. So, why did you choose Poetry and not something else?
Nehal: Poetry is freedom. And all we human seek is nothing but freedom. Poetry has that kick within itself where it just gives you the glimpse of your own self. The creative freedom the form itself has is one of the most beautiful literary aspect we have ever invented. Imagine poetry can be of two lines or twenty-two. The only aspect can make it complete is you say it from your whole being. Imagine it is like poetry telling its poet, I understand, go on. And one just flows with the life jackets on.
Neel Preet: While reading your book, I found that your poems had some really strong emotions and stories inside them, which had greatly impressed me and thus I would like you to explain the overall theme of your book!
Nehal: To be honest, there is no filtration of any kind in terms of how it should sound. And may be that could be one of the reasons behind its strong emotions. I think the book is a place where you really find this space of your own where you don’t hold back things diplomatically out of fear of losing your strategical gain. For me, if I am to write, I will write what I really want to indicate or convey or cherish. Otherwise, there is no point in process at all.
Neel Preet: Next, I want you to tell us about some of those writers, who has been your inspiration and whom you follow!
Nehal: Rather, I would say my favourite writing which I came across without any efforts, just like that. It’s like life and melody going simultaneously. And then out of curiosity, you want to know who has written these beautiful words? And there you find names of author. To me, they are undoubtedly Gulzar sir and Javed Akhtar sir. And the unbeatable flow of all our sant kavi, how brilliantly and at ease they weave their wordings without wanting it to be anything else but just a way of expression.
Neel Preet: Is there any message which you would like to convey to your readers? Or any piece of advice, which you would like to give to the readers out there!
Nehal: I would say pick the things you like about writing, it can be a thought, it can be a style, it can be a flow and feel free to disconnect henceforth to discover that very expressionist thriving within yourself to present your unique self with your unique experiences with your unique style.
Neel Preet: Are there any other books being worked by you? Please let us know about your future projects.
Nehal: No, this is my first book, and at present I am more curious and exploring philosophical and metaphysical realities, my poetries are also let’s say philosophical fuss. (Hahaha) but it is what it is 🙂 I am thinking, reading, exploring, and as an outcome whatsoever poetic part I am able to put up, I am trying my best to convey it with the most genuine intention. Intent to share. Intent to express.
